I have two decades of clinical experience, including fifteen years in private practice in Australia, where I gained qualifications as a psychologist including a Masters in Family Therapy from the University of Western Sydney. I have recently returned home to the UK where I have been recognised as a Chartered Psychologist and I am fully registered with the HCPC as a counselling psychologist. I regularly attend continuing professional development sessions and training to broaden my skills.
I have assisted countless clients through a combination of different techniques including: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness, CBT, Mentalising, Brief Family Therapy, Solution Focused, Systemic and Psychotherapy. I work with clients on a very broad range of issues, but my specialisations are couple/relationship counselling and family therapy, treatment of obsessive-compulsive disorders, trauma, stress, depression, anxiety, adjustment disorders as well as psychological treatment for addictions.
In Sydney I established the Randwick Psychology Centre with branches in Randwick and Maroubra, which provided counselling services to private patients via up to fifteen psychologists and allied health professionals. I completed the Australian Psychological Society Institute’s Board Approved Supervisory course and provided supervision and support to psychologists in regional and remote Australia. I was a member of the Australian Psychological Society’s College of Counselling Psychologists.
Prior to embarking in private practice, I was employed as Program Manager at the Sydney (Private) Clinic, and worked at Relationships Australia as a counsellor and trainer of other therapists.
